Der Tina, I know we dont "know" each other, but have just read all the posts. I cant belive how you are being treated, how dare your GP say nothing they can do, orthotics? what a waste of time!!! You have to complain, and make it clear that you want rheumatology. Its disgusting to have to go private for something that is so necessary. I am so angry for you!! Good luck with getting help, I so wish I could come to that GP with you!! he wouldnt know what hit him!!! Thinking of you, I hope you dont mind me replying, love x

Hi Tina,

sorry I'm a bit out of the loop (as usual) but take it you are having the ongoing problems with your wrists? I'm really sorry that you are still in pain.
I thought Mr Trail was a surgeon not a rheumatologist???...he did my elbow replacement.
Hope you can get something sorted asap to see someone who can help you.

thinking of you

Hi Tina

Ian Trail is a hand and arm consultant at Wrightington Hospital, but in any case he won't see you until your GP has forwarded a referral to him. I have a feeling he is now semi or even fully retired. I know he is still doing private work. You need to TELL your GP to send a referral by FAX today. I'm just going to research where you can see him and will post again soon.

MUCH love to you
Jeanxxxx

Tina - Ian Trail's secretary's number is 01257 256233. If you don't have any joy, I am more than happy to come up and go with you to sort your GP out.

Hi Tina,

What we do when making a private appointment is make the appointment and then tell the GP when it is so that he can fax the details.
So as soon as you've made the appointment tell your GP when it's for and hopefully he will fax the consultant.
Good luck, hope you get an appointment soon.

Each time I've been privately, Doreen, they've insisted on having the GP's referral first of all - even Prof Emery. Maybe all these bods operate differently. Nothing surprises me any more!!!!

No sorry Jean, I meant after the GP has said they will refer, we than make the appointment, tell them when it is and then they fax. I think they just want to make sure that the appointment has been made before they send the details.

You need an emergency appoinment!

I know this is drastic but perhaps you'll have to present yourself at A and E? At least then they'll have to act?

Oh it is SO exasperating for you.....NO ironing tonight please! LOL

Much love and prayers,
A

well i have been getting no where with mr trails maybe it suo to the weather and his staff not in so i rang my doctors up adn spoke to receptionist and she got back to me today and said the earlist she can get me in with mr trails is 25th dec she was really nice cause she said to be honest i can get you an appointment on the 4th feb none private so dont have to pay or mr trails private 25th jan so i said well i have been in pain this long to be honest i will cope another week later as i would rather leave it incase i need something done and have the choose to go private then i thought it was very nice of her but then again is it because of all the running around,
Any way it will give me chance to right it down more whats going on cause lately they dont hurt all the time just when i catch something but they are aching an feel stiff all the times thats why i am thinking is it arthritis do you get stiff and pain, but i dont have any swelling thats why think it might not be

It is more common to have less swelling with OA than RA. RA is usually swollen, hot, red joints BUT not always....

Sorry for sounding so vague but I think they absolutely MUST test you for these illnesses...

Praying for you always and hoping this can be resolved.

Love,
Amanda

Sorry T! Did you get the text too??

OA- osteo arthritis which you are young for too but it may be this?

I am just wondering because Daniel has RA that you should have definitely been tested for RA or OA or any kind of inflammatory arthritis, just to rule it out of anything.

Prayers for you my lovely,
Amanda
